Well, what do you know I'm staying in Andover. Ready or not here I come. Yay for October and for being able to drive our car again. I'm extremely extremely excited for General Conference. I can't believe that it was a year ago when I decided to go on a mission. That girl did not know what she was getting herself into. The Relief Society Broadcast was amazing!!!! President Monson's talk was worth more then a million bucks. Isn't that so cool that there is a Prophet on the earth? I sure think it's pretty cool. I can't remember if I wrote home about the old couple that we helped set up for their garage sell but they are super active Methodist but they are interested in the Book of Mormon and they really like when we come over. I will never take having investigators for granted again. M*** came with us to a baptism of an awesome family Fridayy and she came with us to the Relief Society Broadcast Saturday! Super spiritual high weekend. So Sister Hulet HATES dogs and we were teaching this crazy guy who has two HUGE dogs and they were all up on Sister Hulet the entire lesson. It was sooo funny. I kept trying to get them to come to me but they just laid across her the entire time we were there. Sister Beeson is getting transferred far away so I won't be able to see her for a long time, which is sad.  Life is good. Missions are hard. The Holy Ghost is incredible. The church is true. Thanks for the prayers, I really need them. I LOVE YOU ALL!

thought I would share the picture I look at on my camera whenever I need a good laugh. Diego was showing me his "mustache hair" Don't you just want to squeeze those cheeks?

Hello Hello! This week was really really rough but it ended good...M** came to church! It was the primary program and the spirit was oh so strong. Knocking doors is numbing. So you know how i'm really bad at budgeting money? Well I'm even worse at budgeting miles so we are going to be biking our butts off this week. I'm learning a lot. I can't believe it's already week 5 of the transfer. The days seem ETERNAL but the months are flying by. We had zone training this week which was great and even greater because I got to see Sister Beeson! Remember the family that toured temple square? We were finally able to see them again yesterday and we set up a return appointment. I feel really good about them and can't wait to meet with them. This week was definetly a low one of the missino but Friday we had an incredible day. We had a full day of knocking ahead of us but we prayed really hard for strength to get through the day and told Heavenly Father that we were going to stick exactly to our plans and we asked Him to place people in our path. We saw miracle after miracle. We accidently knocked into a less active and three people let us teach them on their doorstep and an old couple let us help them set up for their garage sell and said we can come back.  Sister Hulet had to have an intervention with me because I'm biased against rich white catholic people and refuse to knock in ritzy neighborhoods. We play a game and try to guess if they are Lutheran or Catholic before knocking on their door. I'm winning. Thanks for all the prayers. I love you all. Love, Sister Szabo the older

WE HAVE AN INVESTIGATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Her name is M*****. We were completely led to her by the spirit. We are led to a lot of people by the spirit but she actually wants to learn. We freaked out when we called to confirm our appointment and she said we could still come over. THE CHURCH IS TRUE!!!! We had new missionary training in Bloomington which was really good. Sister Ballif is training as well so it was a nice treat to see her. I don't think I ever told you about her but she is amazing and she's helped me out a lot. I found out that T****'s son, K**** and a girl E*** that I was teaching in St. Cloud got baptized and J***, the black guy in the picture with the gun is gettting baptized!!  We had interviews with President and he gave me a blessing. I love the Priesthood. So they cut our miles, which is no bueno. We get to ride our bikes even more. It's all fun and games until you are in the middle of Ham Lake and it starts to down pour and you are very far from your car. We were drenched. Like wringing out our skirts drenched. What can you do but laugh. We were too far from our house to drive and change and it was to far to bike so we kept going and passed out moist mormon.org cards. The Elders found an apartment with Africans. We knocked the crap out of it. Africans are amazing. I saw "We are representatives of Jesus Christ and we are here to share His message with you" and they let you in. I've tried it on white people. They slam the door in our faces. Last night we got to go to the Presidents fireside in Bloomington and I got to see SISTER BEESON!!! Wait, it gets better. The boys and Janelle and Dustin were all there. I cried and they cried and the boys all hugged attacked me. D**** and J***** are getting married and the whole family is getting BAPTIZED! It's incredible. They joke and say they are going to move to AF when we get home because me and Sister Beeson will both be there. People, Jesus loves you. Read your scriptures and say your prayers.

this picture will only mean something to a few people. but it's the best thing ever :)

It's going to be a loooong winter!

AHH I LOVE THEM ALL SO MUCH.

hey hey hey. This week has been a long slow week full of knocking. Seriously tender mercies are the only thing that get me through each day. Our area is huge and we don't have very many miles so we get to ride our bikes everyday. Biggest tender mercy of the week...we were far from home and out of water and we had been tracting ALL day. We were really really hot and tired and a nice women let us come in and sit down. She wasn't interested at all but to sit on a couch with a/c for 2 minutes felt amazing. We knocked into a family who toured temple square two weeks ago while they were in Utah for a competition. We have really really really really really high hopes for them. We get to go to Bloomington for new missionary training Wednesday.  I am really excited to see Sister Ballif. And I am counting down the days until zone conference when I get to see Sister Beeson. I really miss her. Things are good. It's just really easy to lose perspective and hope. Satan is the worst. The church is true. Funniest story of the week. We were knocking doors and we were having a pretty good conversation with a guy: Steve "yeah and those mormons think theirs is the only true church on the earth" me: "Uhhh did you know we are mormons?" awkward silence. k thanks bye. I love you all. Thanks for everything Love, Sister Szabo

Thanks for the package! Seriously thank you. You have no idea. I feel so alone out here but I know that Heavenly Father is with me. Training is hard and opening an area is hard. But I am learning a lot and learning to rely 100% on the Lord. Thanks for all the prayers. Some days all that gets me through is knowing I have you all at home praying for me. I love you all so much! Thanks for sending me that letter that Sister Beeson wrote you. She is the greatest. I LOVE YOU! I hope the pictures I send makes up for the lack of words I use :)

Caught in a rain storm in the middle of no where.
Exchanges with Sister Donohue

Monday, September 2, 2013

Hello one and all. Sorry for the depressing letter last week. Thanks for all the prayers and letters and packages. Seriously couldn't have made it through the week without them. I went on exchanges with Sister Dononce. She is brand spanking new and she is incredible. She was baptized three years ago and she is on fire.
We knock and knock and knock and knock doors. "I have my faith and i'm not looking for change" BLAH BLAH BLAH. We have had some incredible miracles. When i was with Sister Dononce the GPS whacked out and took us to who knows where. We decided to knock some doors and a lady was outside of her house with her son and we had a really good conversation with her and she is really open. miracle miracle.
God sends little tender mercies to get us through the day. I think God is trying to teach me to rely on him 100% because I really don't know how I'm going to get through each day so I pray a lot and somehow make it through the day. If I had to compare this ward to something it would be the ward we go to when we go to the cabin with the Johnsons. Lots of cowboy boots. I love it here, it's just not an ideal place for missionary work.
And the BIGGEST BEST miracle ever...remember Peace Ngufa that we were teaching with Elder and Sister Mathis? She got baptized last week in the Med Lake ward. She moved to Andover to live with her dad. Say what? If I'm in this area just to get her situated in the new ward then I'm okay with that. The ward doesn't quite know what to do with a Lyberian.
Sister Hulet is amazing. Sometimes I get really overwhelmed and she calms me down. You would think that it would be the trainer calming down the greenie but not the case. Heavenly Father knows what he's doing. I had a realization this morning that it's not that all of my companions are high maintenance it's just that I'm not high maintenance. That sounds prideful but it's true.
We live with members. The Roushars. They are wonderful. They have ton of kids but only the youngest daughter lives her. Needless to say Sister Roushar mothers us greatly :)
I love you all! Love, Sista Szabo
